1 day ago Four-star OT Lamont Rogers reveals top eight schools
Colin Kennedy, 247Sports Longhorns still in contention for one of the nation’s top offensive linemen. One of the nation’s best offensive line prospects narrowed his list of contending programs down to eight earlier today, and the Texas Longhorns are one of the options he is continuing to consider. Four-star Mesquite (TX) Horn offensive tackle Lamont Rogers announced via On3’s Hayes Fawcett that his recruitment is down to Florida State, LSU, Missouri, Oklahoma, SMU, Tennessee, Texas, and Texas A&M. The odds appear to favor that Rogers will be playing his collegiate career somewhere in the SEC. Thanks to @Hayesfawcett3 for the really nice edit. Here is my top 8. Looking forward to my upcoming visits. pic.twitter.com/JrDAXbsIME— Lamont Rogers (@TheLamontRogers) May 13, 2024 The Longhorns added Port Neches-Groves three-star offensive lineman Jackson Christian this evening, but Kyle Flood will continue to pursue elite prospects like Rogers as he continues to evaluate big humans to bring into his position room. Of the finalists listed, Rogers is slated to visit SMU (May 17th), Missouri (May 31st), Texas A&M (June 6th), Texas (June 14th), and Oklahoma (June 18th). We will see if that list of visits continues to expand as we inch closer to the summer, but as of today, those are the schools expected to get official visits. This is going to be a very competitive recruitment with multiple teams within the region jockeying for a position for one of the top tackle prospects in the country. Kyle Flood has been recruiting and developing very well since arriving in Austin, so being able to get Rogers on campus officially will have the Longhorns right in the fight. Rogers is rated as the 6th ranked offensive tackle prospect in the country according to 247Sports’ composite rankings and is ranked as the 45th player overall by the same metrics.

1 day ago Three-star IOL Jackson Christian commits to Texas over Texas A&M
via @Jack_C25 The Port Neches-Groves product takes the first offensive line spot in the 2025 recruiting class for the Longhorns. Kyle Flood and the Texas Longhorns have another big human along the offensive line with the Monday commitment of Port Neches-Groves interior offensive lineman Jackson Christian. After a lot of thought I am blessed to say, I am officially committing to The University of Texas. I want to thank all the coaches that recruited me throughout this process. Christian chose head coach Steve Sarkisian’s program despite having official visits set to Texas A&M and Texas Tech and offers from seven other schools, including Houston, SMU, and UTSA. Christian picked up his offer from the Longhorns last summer after an in-person evaluation by Flood at a Texas summer camp in June and made return visits for last September’s win over Kansas, the January Junior Day this year, and two spring trips to Austin. A consensus three-star prospect, Christian is ranked as the No. 494 player nationally and the No. 30 interior offensive lineman, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. The big offensive lineman helped Port Neches-Groves win the Class 5A-Division II state championship in 2023. Christian is the first offensive lineman to commit to the Longhorns in the 2025 recruiting class and the seventh prospect overall in a group that now ranks No. 22 nationally.
